The Merely Players are approached by a servant of a nearby local lord - Baron Robbert Usher. Lord Robbert is keen to have the party to investigate the strange goings on at his manor house. The small fortune he offers is more than enough to entice the group, and they quickly learn that the lord and his twin sister are recluses and the house holds much more than meets the eye!

The party, having now spent a month moving into their new tower abode, is visited by a traveling caravan of Rosanti people looking for a place to camp. The Rosanti matron, a mysterious woman by the name of Domna Patrina Ducdamé, rewards the heroes for their kindness by hosting them in her camp that evening. While enjoying the Rosanti hospitality, the Merely Players are invited to participate in an unusual game, which pits comrade versus comrade in a battle royale!

The newly named Merely Players, finally having a moment to catch their breath, take some time to do a little milling about Verena before the margrave’s advisor, Tomas Exeter, sends a page to lead the group to their newly awarded tower and land. Formerly of the house of Millin, the tower has spent the last two hundred years unoccupied and in disrepair. The heroes explore their new home and discover it has more secrets than they had anticipated.
