Walk a Mile in Their Shoes deals with themes of domestic violence, harassment, stalking and death. Please listen with care if any of these are triggering for you.

In the first episode of  Walk a Mile in Their Shoes, Simone, Megan, Daniel and Luke talk about what their life was like before coming face-to-face with gender inequity.

Simone was a happy mum of three, thinking about re-entering the dating world again at 37.

While she didn’t know the typical behaviour of someone in a relationship, she did know that something wasn’t sitting quite right in her new relationship.

Megan is an award-winning journalist who dreamed of entering sports media since the tender age of eight.

When Megan finally achieved her goal, things weren't as easy as she might have anticipated. She began to learn how a young female might be treated in a male-dominated industry.

Luke and Daniel were happy boys who were loved by their family and friends. As they grew older, however, they began to become more aware of their father’s traditional views, temper and treatment of their mother.

All four talk about the red flags they saw before facing their life-changing incidents, as well as what they wished they knew what to look out for beforehand.

If you, a child, or another person is in immediate danger, call your local emergency service.

For sexual assault, domestic and family violence counselling service call 1800 RESPECT 1800 737 732 for 24/7 phone and online services.
