She just put in her 2 week notice at her job at a law firm because she was heading off to college. Just 10 days before she was due to leave she completely disappeared. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance were incredibly bizarre and still leave everyone scratching their heads some 40 years later. He would go on to ruthlessly murder multiple women over the next few years. Because of McDuff, the State of Texas had to change the way they handled paroles and punishments. Moral of this story... Police quickly came to the conclusion that this must have been a tragic accident.
