Jessica Berman is Deputy Commissioner of the National Lacrosse League, making her the first Deputy Commissioner of a men’s professional sports league. In her role she is responsible for the strategic direction of the league on all growth initiatives and legal matters facing the NLL.  Prior to that she spent 13 years at the NHL in a variety of roles, including Executive Director of the NHL Foundation, VP of Community Development, Culture & Growth, and Deputy General Counsel.  Jessica is on the University of Michigan Sport Management Advisory Board, the Sports Lawyers Association Board, Fordham Sports Law Forum Board of Advisors, a founding Advisory Board Member of the Pro Sports Assembly and the UJA Sports for Youth Committee. She has been honored with Sports Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Award (2014), the Burke Award (2015), Sports Illustrated List of Unrelenting Women (2020) and AdWeek’s Most Powerful Women in Sports (2020). She lives in Westchester with her two boys and two dogs.
