This week we start a two part episode to try and discuss new ideas to grow sailing. We want to do a series of episodes, one every few months, where we talk about growing the sport. This week we start with two people who are at the coal face. Adrian Finglas Head - Coach Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron and Scott Paton - Head of the Sailing Program Rye Yacht Club.  From there we hope to move up the administrative hierarchy till we get World sailing talking about it. This week we chat to Graeme Taylor, who along with James Mayo and Richie Allanson (Ep 5 and Ep 64) won the 2024 Etchells Worlds sailing Magpie. GT has a long history in the Etchells and the Magpie team have been dominant this year. GT also has an enviable record in the Hobart especially on the 100 footers, so we have plenty to talk about.

There is a new Transatlantic race for the Class 40 fleet - The Niji 40. It departs today 7 April at 1pm France time. 
We took the chance to chat to one of our favourite frenchmen, Hugo Picard, (Ep143 a great episode) who is competing with William Mathelin-Moreaux, (skipper) and Davy Beaudart as they sail their new Class 40 - Dékuple across the Atlantic. 
The Dékuple Sailing Team has a solid program ahead, and we discuss it in full and get right into what a class 40 is like. Great fun. Best of luck to all competing in the race. We published early so you could enjoy it on your crossing.

This is a big Ep and a very interesting discussion. We talk to Annika & Ian 'Thommo' Thomson from Ocean Crusaders and the TP52 J Bird. Annika and Thommo run a charity, Ocean Crusaders. Ocean Crusaders clean the ocean of rubbish and plastic. They also own J Bird III, a TP52 they bought for $30,000 and restored/rebuilt into a modern racer cruiser that is powered entirely by renewable energy. They have plenty going on and they live at the forefront of making the World a better place. There is something for everyone in this discussion. Enjoy!
