Life is an interesting thing because we don't get to know what is going to happen as we wind our way through it. We don't get to know what the future holds and that means we are ever changing, ever evolving. Or are we?

Life has knocked me down a few times in the last few years so I decided to start this podcast so I can share my story. My story of divorce, my story of grief over losing my mom to dementia. My story of grief over losing my brother 18 months after my mom died.

My story is heavily weighted on how I saw, and see myself, as well as how other people have viewed me. This podcast shares a bit about my journey and relationship with what I call labels.

Do you ever wonder who you are under all your labels? Do you know what your labels are? Or who gave you those labels? How do you feel about these labels? What purpose do these labels serve?

If you have ever asked yourself these questions, you are not alone! This podcast, Life As . . . with Nicki Pike is for everyone who is tired of their labels. People who want to get out from under their labels, who keep getting back up when life has knocked them down.

So let's lose our labels and START HITTING BACK by telling our stories! I will start by telling you my story of divorce and loss after losing my mom and brother. From there, I will interview other people and give them a safe space to share their story. So let's get to it! Let's be brave and intentional and yes, even vulnerable!

I intentionally named my podcast Life As . . . so we can fit in whatever label we need to. Life As . . . a single mom. Life as . . . the mom of an only child. Life As . . . a women who has lost both her parents. If you have a label and story you want to share, let me know and maybe you can be my guest!
