    225. Communication hacks for when you're Out of Office

    225. Communication hacks for when you're Out of Office

We all need to take breaks to recharge, step away, and get re-centered and part of that break is ignoring your inbox. In this episode, I’m diving into the importance of an OOO or an Out of Office Email.
Business does not stop just because you aren't in the office, but you deserve a real chance to pause and step away. I share my own experiences of what I used to do versus what I do now when I'm incommunicado so that my clients and I both are aware of (and stick to!) boundaries and expectations. I walk through what details to keep in mind in this OOO and even when it can be useful outside of vacations.
If you’re taking time off this summer, I encourage you to set up an Out of Office Reply! If you don’t know where to get started, I’ve got you covered! Download some of my favourite OOO response templates that I’ve compiled through the years: rebeccahay.com/ooo

    223. Move the needle in your business this summer

    223. Move the needle in your business this summer

Let’s talk about the difference between working ON your business and working IN your business. If you don’t know the difference this episode is for you!
In this episode, I lay out examples of what tasks fall into each of these categories and share some advice that, at first glance, may seem counterintuitive. I outline the differences, demystify them, and share why it matters that you do both strategically.
If you want to elevate your business, services, and team to find and serve your clients more efficiently, you must take the time and energy to build the foundation instead of just going through the day-to-day hustle.

    222. Tailor your business to your lifestyle

    222. Tailor your business to your lifestyle

This conversation is one for the books! I’m joined by CEO and business coach Katie Decker who shares the most incredible, on-point thoughts on creating a sustainable business that works for you.
Katie speaks about her career trajectory, why she left residential design, why she is so committed to her coaching business, and who her most important clients are. She talks about using intuition to tailor your business to fit your lifestyle and shares the advantages, mistakes, and lessons she's learned from her own career. She also discusses why hustle and having the right team are equally vital for success and the crucial step she takes before onboarding employees to ensure it is the right fit for all.
She has the most terrific insights about listening and following our instincts as we think about tackling just that extra 5% that left me so inspired and motivated and I know listeners will be too.
