Hello, I’m Craig and welcome to Football Kit Memories - the football podcast that gets under the shirt, revealing the passions, recollections and stories of each guest.
The concept is pretty simple…
In each episode, a well known guest talks to me about three football shirts that mean something important to them.
Expect some footballing-highs, some footballing-lows and enjoy a deeper dive into the wider world football culture itself.
So please do remember to like, follow and share, but above all - please do - enjoy the podcast.

    Jonathan Wilson

    Jonathan Wilson

Hello, Im Craig and welcome to another episode of Football Kit Memories - the football podcast that gets under the shirt.
In today’s episode I'm joined by award winning writer and editor of The Blizzard, Jonathan Wilson as we discuss the recently revised edition of his book Angels with Dirty Faces, an incredible book which not only covers the history of Argentinian football to the present day, but also the history of the modern country itself. I really recommend it.
Beyond the book we cover Jonathan’s three football shirt choices, beginning with a nostalgic trip to Sunderland’s Roker Park during an epic FA Cup Run, an emotional African Cup of Nations win for Zambia and we round things off discussing the legacy of Maradona and the shirt he wore against England at the World Cup in Mexico in 1986.

    Vittorio Angelone

Hello, Im Craig and welcome to another episode of Football Kit Memories - the football podcast that gets under the shirt.
In today’s episode I'm joined by Belfast-born comedian, Vittorio Angelone.
During the show, I find out how Vittorio got started in comedy and we discuss the evolving methods of discovery and ways of building a fanbase that are now open to comedians, including the smart use of social media and podcasting. We talk touring, Edinburgh shows and his upcoming special.
Later and as always Vittorio picks out three football shirts that represent his relationship with the sport, including shirts from Liverpool, Celtic and of course… the clues is in his name… Italia.

James Brown - founding Editor of Loaded Magazine, author of 'Animal House'

Hello, Im Craig and welcome to another episode of Football Kit Memories - the football podcast that gets under the shirt.
In today’s episode I'm joined by the founder and first editor of Loaded magazine - James Brown.
James recently published his memoir ‘Animal House’ which covers his life both before and after the magazine and for me it was an excellent read in the way it honestly reflects both the highs and lows of celebrity and excess during the 1990s.
James initially began writing in Leeds during the 1980s, where he turned his passion for music into his own successful fanzine. A move to the more established music press in London followed first at Sounds and then at the NME before James was given the opportunity to set up Loaded, a title that essentially redefined male culture in the media.
Our chat covers the music, magazines and mayhem that James describes so well in his book, as well as his passion for football and Leeds United.

    Alastair Campbell

    Alastair Campbell

Hello, Im Craig and welcome to another episode of Football Kit Memories - the football podcast that gets under the shirt.
In today’s episode I'm joined by a huge name in podcasting and politics, Alastair Campbell.
Beginning his professional life as journalist, Alastair Campbell became more widely known as the chief communication strategist in successive Labour governments during the Tony Blair years. More recently, his podcast The Rest is Politics, which he co-hosts with former Conservative MP Rory Stewart has consistently topped the charts and has made politics more engaging and accessible for a mass audience, including me!
We also cover his latest book ‘But What Can I Do?’ (out May 11th), written to arm the average person with ways and means of making a real difference in the complex and confusing world of politics.
Beyond all this, of course, Alastair is famously a huge Burnley and Scotland fan and we talk about his experience of football through his choice of three very special football shirts.

    Nooruddean Choudry

Hello, Im Craig and welcome to another episode of Football Kit Memories - the football podcast that gets under the shirt.
In today’s episode I'm joined by Nooruddean Choudry, who has recently published his first book, a memoir of his life called Inshallah United - A Story of Faith and Football. I’ve really enjoyed Nooruddean’s output over the years, be it on Twitter, in the Guardian or various podcasts and I was delighted to get some time in with him to discuss the book in what turned out to be a far more wide ranging chat.
We cover off his writing process, imposter syndrome and the desire for authenticity, something I can tell you he successfully delivers throughout the book. We also chat about his large following on Twitter, what that means to him and of course, as always Nooruddean picks out three football shirts that mean something to him.

    Martin O'Neill

    Martin O'Neill

Hello, Im Craig and welcome to another episode of Football Kit Memories - the football podcast that gets under the shirt
In today’s episode I'm joined by a true footballing great - Martin O’ Neill.
Martin has recently published his excellent memoir - ‘On Days Like These’ and I was lucky enough to catch up with him to discuss his career through his choice of three different football shirts.
A league and two time European Cup winner at Nottingham Forest, Martin went on to augment his trophy cabinet with yet more honours as a top level manager at clubs like Leicester City, Celtic and various others. Martin was captain of the famous Northern Ireland team that reached the second round of the World Cup in 1982, something he reprised as manager of the Republic of Ireland at Euro 2016.
Martin was kind enough to put a lot of thought into his shirt choices and this, coupled with his unique storytelling ability means that listeners are in for a real treat today.
