    Episode 0101 - Van Morrison's Tupelo Honey

    Episode 0101 - Van Morrison's Tupelo Honey

In episode number 101 of The Classic Rock Album-By-Album Podcast, host Chris Karson is joined by CRABA Sophomore guest host and self-professed millennial Devin Doyle!  In Part 1 of the Tupelo Honey assignment, much time is spent on the actual history of Tupelo's honey industry (which as it turns out isn't very big).  Still there is some music to talk about and it's near and dear to Chris' "Sound of '72" soft-rock era.  But is it a classic?  Find out this time on The Classic Rock Album-By-Album Podcast!

Episode 0100 - Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon

In episode number 100 of The Classic Rock Album-By-Album Podcast, host Chris Karson is joined by prog-rock connoisseur Nate Treese as they (briefly) celebrate episode 100 of CRABA!  Alan parsons returns as the lowly engineer on the project and Rogers Waters exercises his brain in writing some lyrics.  Can the rest6 of the band measure up to Waters' brilliance?  Does DSOTM stand up 50 years later?  Find out this time on The Classic Rock Album-By-Album Podcast!

Ill informed hyenas

Barely listenable. Ill-informed, opinionated in a not-so-funny way, one of the guys has an extremely annoying hyena laugh. Usually I’ll give a podcast at least two tries, but this is just so bad I didn’t make it halfway through the episode I downloaded. I’ll usually try to leave something positive for the podcasters, as it’s a lot of har work, but aside from being ad free I got nothing. Sorry

Enjoyable listen

I’ve listened to twenty-something episodes the last couple of weeks. At first I was a little sceptical, but Chris and Lee’s approach to assessing these albums are slowly growing on me. They are fairly thorough, and I particularly enjoy the talks about instruments, gear and recording techniques. They give us an overview of the artist, but I really appreciate how they place an artist/album/genre/style/approach in a bigger picture. Although I don’t always agree with their views, I must admit they still might have a point.

Through this podcast I have discovered new albums to listen to. In addition, I have found new appreciation for albums I somehow had forgotten a little. And... I will never listen to «Dressed to kill» or the first Zeppelin album the same way again...
