Its simply incredible
I honestly can’t tell enough people abou this podcast. Even if your main intrest isn’t pirates its still an incredible podcast to learn about the world before and during that time.
Starts off well
Especially the first 100 or so episodes. Then it, in my opinion, deviates into long digressions about activities less piratical than I prefer. Depends on what you like, but I prefer historical podcasts to maintain a steady progression.
Plus, the narrator has a habit of including dramatic [...] pauses in the telling. While it can be a [...] useful device, the later [...]episodes suffers from an [...] overuse of the dramatic [...] pauses. I recently returned to the podcast after an [...] abscense, but when I found [....] four dramatic [...] pauses in the first two minutes I lost [...] interest.
