    My Story

    My Story

    Welcome to the fourth season of the Solo Female Traveler Podcast! To kick off the season, my friend Sabrina interviews me as I tell my story as a Venezuelan immigrating to the United States, recap on what I’ve learned from interviewing women in past episodes, explore the changes I hope to see in the travel industry, as well as talk about why I started this podcast and what’s to come this season.

    Like I mentioned at the end of the episode, I’m looking to interview more women from African countries, so if you’re a solo female traveler from there, please reach out! And if you're a solo female traveler whose life, mindset, or career has been changed by solo travel, please reach out to me at:

    @thesolofemaletravelerpodcast
    @lucolmenares_

    Lastly, stay tuned for the first episode, where I host an entertaining and vulnerable chat between a woman who wants to travel but has some reservations, and an experienced female traveler living in Puerto Rico. Until then, enjoy today's episode!

    Working with Wildlife Abroad- Melisa Beveridge

    Working with Wildlife Abroad- Melisa Beveridge

    Even though there is an increasing knowledge on unethical animal tourism today, there are still too many travelers who unknowingly participate in such activities. Our guest for this episode is Melisa, a Veterinary Technician and an Artist on a mission to make the world a better place for orphaned, injured and rescued animals. Here she shares with us about her experience of working and volunteering at different Animal Sanctuaries in Mexico, UK, Africa and the U.S, and from her experiences she gives us tips on how we can still be in contact with animals, but doing it in a way that is ethical, and respectful for them.
