On Sharing Story.
This episode is a little different. This is my riff on sharing our stories. Why I think it's necessary and important and how I have come to be a bit more confident in sharing mine.

A Chat About Trauma and Yoga
In this episode I talk about how trauma is held in the body and what can happen with our nervous system when we have traumatic stress responses. We'll look at the difference between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system and look at the reasons why a yoga practice (among other things) can be helpful for people dealing with trauma, stress & anxiety.
I'd love your feedback - head to www.theyinmethod.com/feedback - the poll at the top is asking whether you'd like to see the podcast remain as only really being focused on yin yoga or if you'd like to see some other topics introduced - thanks!
Here are some of the people and resources I mentioned in this episode:
BOOK - How To Do The Work
INSTA - The Holistic Psychologist
Peter Levine - Somatic Experiencing
Unlocking Us (podcast episode w/ Oprah & Dr. Bruce D. Perry)

What is QI?
In this episode we are diving into the BIG question, what is QI? Listen to find out how QI is defined and how it can become blocked, stagnant or amplified. Plus, what can we do with QI in yin yoga?
The audio on this episode is a bit fuzzy, but you can still hear it fine. I clearly just got a bit excited talking into my microphone. It gets a bit better as the episode progresses.
Here's the online subscription I was talking about - Gil Hedley
And the Bernie Clark article.

A Little More of My Story
I wanted to share some more of my story* this week, because there is power in sharing story.
After I recorded this episode I realised that I didn't really acknowledge how many amazing things that have happened over the past year.
It hasn't all been difficult and dark.
There have been a lot of really great moments, and I am grateful.
Thanks for listening.
We'll be back to the yin yoga goodness next week.
