Ron Ananian, The Car Doctor kicks off this hour talking about solving problems by research with a story from the shop this week. Ron recounts a 2022 Honda CRV Hybrid that needed trans fluid service. But the fluid choice went against conventional wisdom and past experience. A critical decision, use the wrong fluid and you will ruin the transmission. Ron and company keep their heads down, stay calm and research the problem searching for the answer.  He then talks about a 2013 Acura with a random driveability problem. He points out that the Acura has a bad Steering Angle Sensor, which is mounted on the Air Bag Clock Spring; both of which are now 11 yeas old and made of plastic. Its time to research, research, research.

Ron's first call this hour is with Rick from Nebraska. He has some concerns about the transmission on his 2020 Ford F150. The Car Doctor helps all of us to understand some basic transmission service do's and don'ts for longer transmission life and better operation.

The Car Doctor then welcomes first time guest Cherokee Hart of Mahwah Ford to discuss leasing versus buying when it comes to a vehicle purchase. Cherokee is the business manager, the last person in the process and walks us through what we can expect with great tips, guidance and suggestions.

Ron closes out the hour talking about the perils of brake parts look up on some typical vehicles in the shop this week. Counting on AutoZone and their website catalog, Ron is able to complete it all. Tune in to hear!

It's car cruising season and Ron Ananian, The Car Doctor has some very special guests this hour. Bill Harms is a long time owner (in the family since 1957) of a 1929 Model A Ford Special Coupe. Bill introduces us to "Little Willie" as they call him, named after Bill's father, the original owner. Together they recount the history of the Ford Model A, released during the Great Depression, and also this particular cars long history with the family.

Next up, Ron talks with Tom Glatch; Tom is a co-author of a new book, The Complete Book of Dodge & Plymouth Muscle Cars. From Motor Books, found at all the usual places, it covers in depth the growth of Dodge & Plymouth performance  with first hand commentary and crystal clear color photos.

Ron closes out the hour thinking about his commute to high school with a buddy, a long gone 1971 Plymouth Cuda.

Ron starts this episode taking calls; his first up is Bruce in NJ with some questions about repairing the power steering system on his 98 Chrysler Voyager van. The manual says he must remove the exhaust to gain access but as Ron points out that will be difficult due to the age of the vehicle. But Ron has some tricks up his sleeve; tune it to find out what they are!

Frank from New Mexico calls in next with a chattering Speedo cable and no cruise control. Ron breaks it down in to simple technology for all of us to hear and learn from. And finally the last call today is an 04 Nissan with some broken swab sway bar links. Dave wants to simply remove what's there but Ron sets the caller straight and puts him on the right track to repair.

Are you, the vehicle owner, the reason your vehicle is in good or bad condition? The buck stops where? Are you doing enough to take care of your vehicle to keep it safe and reliable? Ron starts this episode talking about problems caused by not taking care of a vehicle. He describes a road situation he came across one Saturday morning where a newer Cadillac was driving on a flat tire, ruining the rim along with the suspension, maybe, escorted by the police? A strange one indeed! He then take a call from Paul in VA; he has a 95 Ford Bronco with a noise near the back of the engine that no one car properly diagnose. Ron sets him on the path for a correct diagnosis. The Car Dr then takes a call from a listener with questions about his 2015 Nissan Rogue asking Ron’s opinion on an aftermarket maintenance warranty policy. Ron helps us all understand if there is value in the deal by breaking down the numbers to see if any of it makes sense. HIs next up is a little vague; the caller is not sure if its an 84 or 85 Dodge truck that starts and runs for about 15 minutes, then dies. Ron listens to the caller and then explains how perhaps the environment, down the beach, may have something to do with the problem. In any regard Ron helps us all understand how to approach it with basis engine diagnostics. He rounds out the hour answering an email on an older Jeep Wrangler & its owner who wants to change out the differentials to something better. He ends the hour talking about some of the events in the shop of the past week. The life of an auto mechanic!

Talking To The Younger Mechanics! Ron starts this episode saying that someone asked him this week if he would do it all over again, and gives you his answer. He talks about what it takes to be successful in auto repair from his perspective, based on his experiences. He also recounts a conversation this week in the shop with a GM master technician. The young tech is doing 2 -3 engine swaps a week at his dealership due to problems GM is having with their V8 engines in certain model SUV's and Trucks. Ron opens the phones this hour with a call on a 98 Town and Country that dies after a restart . Its been 2 years and the owner is afraid to drive it but no one can offer him a diagnosis. Well no one but Ron! The Car Doctor gets the caller on the path to success walking him thru some basic and not so basic diagnosis. His next caller is from CT about a 2022 Chevy Malibu; questions range from problems with the turbocharger bypass solenoid to a problem with fuel spitting out while fueling up : Ron's last call of the hour comes from Hawaii; Anne Marie is having problems with a 24 Hyundai Santa Cruz that is rarely used. The car is parked most of the time because it is in at a home rented for vacationers. The concern is how to keep the battery from running itself down sits it sits for long periods of time. No sweat; Ron Ananian to the rescue! The Car Dr closes out hour taking us "In The Shop" talking about an 08 GMC Canyon that needed extensive repairs this week, and how it was almost held up over an ambient air temp sensor.
