    S2 Episode 4 : Katha Depression Ko

Mental health issues are a part of many of our Nepali lives, whether you’re at home or abroad. So many of us have dealt with mental and emotional distress in our lives. Yet so few of us feel comfortable or even safe talking about it out loud. On this episode, our producer Parichaya sits down with Shantanu for a candid discussion on mental health and Shantanu’s own experiences with mental distress, attempting to take his own life, and how he’s coped and grown since. Through this conversation, we shed light on how distress can look different for everyone, how the Nepali society responds to it, and what are some tips and tools to coping with all the forms it takes.

    S2 Episode 3 : Yo Nepali Bhasa

Have you ever been embarrassed when mispronouncing a foreign word? A lot? How about a Nepali word? Not so much? In this episode we explore the wealth of the Nepali alphabet, sounds and language in juxtaposition with English. We touch on a controversial topic about the Devanagari script, share an expert's opinions on our much evolving language, and discuss some other countries' linguistic history.

Thanks to Satya Khadka, Utsav Adhikari, and Grace Kenneally, who chimed in with their experiences in Nepali and English languages.

    S2 Episode 2 : म पनि! तपाई नि ? - #metoo Victim Blaming

    S2 Episode 2 : म पनि! तपाई नि ? - #metoo Victim Blaming

Why did the #metoo movement fail to gain momentum in Nepal? In this episode we talk about how victim blaming and shaming might have contributed to this.  We also explore ways to help this movement instead of scrutinizing survivors and victims when they share their stories.

If you want to report any sexual harassment or misconduct in Nepal, please dial 1145, a 24-hour free helpline service run by National Women Commission. You can also call at 100 to report it to the police directly.
