    Season 5 Episode 18: Unlocking @Unlokt

    Season 5 Episode 18: Unlocking @Unlokt

We are so excited to finally bring you guys this episode! We recorded this episode over a month ago but had issues with the audio. Lucky for us, Drew was kind enough to come back and run it a second time.

If you have been living under a rock and don’t know about @unlokt or @sorrynotsorry, @drewbelcher is the man behind it all. He takes us on a podcast all the way back to our college days popping bottles and open bar at Prive.

We talk about how he met his beautiful fiancee, Carolyn, and how they magically never fight. He sheds light on what it is like being a foodie with a picky eater kid.

Drew shares the secret sauce to running his social media agency, how Unlokt actually started as an app, and the recipe to success for his Sorry Not Sorry empire.

That mixed in with how he finessed the greatest podcast deal of all time, along bunch of other random and hilarious stories.

We’re so grateful to Drew for coming, not once but twice and we’re so thankful to you all for listening. Buy everything this man sells and make sure you follow him to find out whenever he drops something new because he doesn’t miss.

    Season 5 Episode 17: Angie the Hood-Hopper

    Season 5 Episode 17: Angie the Hood-Hopper

In this episode, we're joined by the fabulous Angie Jaleco – a stylist, salon owner, woman of faith, devoted mom, and loving wife.

You may recognize her from her impeccable sense of style or her thriving salon, but we first met Angie as a friend with an infectious love for life. She's not just a thriving salon owner, she's a master of juggling it all with grace, hard work, and extra hairspray to hold it all together.

We delve into Angie's journey from starting with almost nothing as “Angie the Hood-Hopper” to becoming a success in the world of beauty and business. Her story is like right out of a book – full of childhood trauma that she used as motivation to get where she is today.

But Angie's story isn't just about business – it's about faith, family, and finding the perfect balance in a chaotic world. She shares how her unwavering belief in herself and her faith have been the secret ingredients to her success.

We're so grateful to Angie for sharing her salon with us and her story with our listeners. We had so much fun talking with her and we hope you'll love hearing from her too. Thank you Angie, and thank you all for listening!

Season 5 Episode 16: The Talk

Season 5 Episode 16: The Talk

We’re back in the stu to recap our Easter and propose what the rules and regulations should be for baskets and the bunny.

We’ve now realized that when you give your kid a phone not only are you giving them access to the world, but you’re giving the world access to your kid. Well, the world got in and it prompted us to have “the talk” with Dom.

We touch on some of Danielle’s birthday week and how she almost got in the car with another family, after a wine pickup.

We had to include the latest birthday themes requested by Leo and as always, our child of the week rankings.

If you’re new here, we go a little deeper into some more sensitive topics on the last episode of Real. Late. Relatable. If you haven’t subscribed yet, we left some juicy convos for you to listen to for the low low price of $5/month.

We love you all and are so grateful for each and every listen. Thank you so much!

Season 5 Episode 15: Mackins Go Galindo

Season 5 Episode 15: Mackins Go Galindo

Danielle says it best in her intro, these two incredible people need no introduction nor could we do one justice. In this episode, we're joined by Josh and Krystal Galindo.
You may recognize them from seeing their famous Double G’s around Vegas, but we were first introduced to them as Beckham’s parents. They are amazing parents, extremely hardworking and they have such great perspectives on life.
We talk about their keys to success in business and marriage by sticking to their unique strengths. Josh touches on the idea that life is less about searching for balance because you can’t balance chaos. And that they find a sweet spot centering their 24/7 lives in a rhythm that ebbs and flows appropriately.
We talk about tapping into a “no, no” mindset that allows them to accomplish their goals without fear of falling short. We share stories about the importance of youth sports and its impact on developing discipline, and accountability and weighing the pros and cons of kids playing multiple sports vs. focusing on one primary sport.
Lastly, Josh shares the unbelievable story of his arranged kidnapping when he was a teenager and how it turned out to be one of the best things that has ever happened to him.
We’re so grateful to the Galindos for taking time out of their incredibly busy lives to share with our listeners. We had such a fun time sitting with them again and we hope you enjoy this episode. Thank you for listening!

Season 5 Episode 14: Encouraging Wake Behavior

Season 5 Episode 14: Encouraging Wake Behavior

New studio, new mics, who dis?! We thought we would venture out of the comfort of our home and try recording in a new space and we had a great time! Don’t get too used to it though, because we’re going on the road.

Listen to the next episode of Real. Late. Relatable for all the details in how we’re switching things up a bit and leveling up the podcast.

It’s been a fun couple of weeks! Danielle had the amazing opportunity to guest host Aimee & Shawn in the morning on 102.7 VGS with our good friend, Aimee Thomas. She spent weeks preparing but then the day before decided to get Summerlin mom, day drunk. It wasn’t the most responsible choice but thankful everything worked out.

Mackin was fine for the most part but was definitely annoyed with certain aspects of the day. We never even talked about it… till now on the episode!

For all of you who enjoy the “Things Said After Sex” segment, we’ve decided to make it a little more interactive. Keep an eye on our Instagram stories to find out how.

We also talk about compromising different parenting styles, how strangers treat you when you have a dog vs. a kid, and what Danielle means by “encouraging wake behavior.”

Now that we are officially in our "no" era, we have a new slogan for life, we're putting the negative back in positive parenting. We hope you support us in this valiant cause.

The kids have been pretty good as of late but that doesn’t stop Mackin from picking apart their flaws and ranking them accordingly. We love you all, thank you for your continued support, and thank you for listening!

Season 5 Episode 13: Red Wine & Red Lace

Season 5 Episode 13: Red Wine & Red Lace

It’s been a tough couple of weeks. We were unfortunately grieving the loss of Danielle’s cousin, Nick Scinta. Nick was so amazing and such a light in our lives in his brightest moments. It’s always shocking like this when something happens but it was so beautiful to see the whole family come together to honor his life.

It wasn’t easy but we tried to transition into funnier topics, Nick definitely would have laughed! One thing we’re not laughing at, is our kids laughing. Is it just us or is kids hysterically laughing for too long the most annoying sound in the world? No? Must be just us then.

Other things we complain about are how the kids have forced Mackin into never saying yes, to anything ever again. The constant requests, complaints, and preferences have forced him and we just pray he comes around.

If you’ve been waiting to subscribe to Real. Late. Relatable., starting with our most recent episode with Katie and Came is a great place.

If you’re new here, like what you’re hearing, and want more…subscribe to Real. Late. Relatable. series for even more real and relatable content. For $5 a month, it is worth a couple of laughs!

As always, Mackin ranks the kids and has plenty of new birthday party theme requests from Leo. We love you all, thank you for your continued support, and thank you for listening!
