Castilla Corner: Departures, hypotheticals and transfer rumours

Castilla Corner: Departures, hypotheticals and transfer rumours

In this edition of the Castilla Corner podcast, hosted by Hridyam Arora and Sam Sharpe, we discuss key departures, hypothetical scenarios, and what an ideal transfer window for Real Madrid Castilla would look like. Here is a sneak peek of what we talk about:
Jeremy De Leon’s performances for Puerto Rico
We discuss Jeremy De Leon’s performances for his national team. We see the positives, explore the negatives and derive a conclusive ending to his performances and what they mean for Castilla next season.
    Iker Bravo
A big discussion on Iker Bravo’s attitude problems, his overall stint at Castilla and his eventual but inevitable departure. We also talk about what it means for his future, and what he needs to work on.
Futures of Rafa Marin, Marvin Park, Vinicius Tobias
So many rumours and announcements: Rafa Marin’s links to Napoli, Marvin Park’s official permanent transfer to Las Palmas and another imminent departure in Vinicius Tobias — we also discuss why it is a good thing for all parties involved.
Who else should leave, and who should Castilla sign?
There is an entire article that Sam wrote for Managing Madrid earlier this month, and we talk about the importance of letting a few players go and heavily investing in Castilla again. We talk about Barcelona Atletic’s growth, and what it could mean for Castilla’s future.

    Special Guest Mutiu Adepoju

    Special Guest Mutiu Adepoju

Mutiu Adepoju is one of the best Real Madrid Castilla midfielders of all time. After being scouted during a stellar youth World Cup with Nigeria, the powerhouse went on to score 17 goals from centre-midfield as Castilla won the Segunda División B title, one of only eleven trophies in their entire history. He would then almost hit double figures in the second tier, before flying the nest and enjoying a huge career in La Liga with away from Real Madrid with Racing Santander and Real Sociedad - not to mention with the Nigerian national team, the Super Eagles, where he would star in three World Cups and win an African Cup of Nations. After retirement and becoming a La Liga ambassador, the headmaster has agreed to sit down with Castilla Corner and talk about his time and great memories at the club, instantly becoming one of the best players ever to come onto the ManagingMadrid podcast. Listen for the full episode with Sam Sharpe and Hridyam Arora:

    Hot talking points:

What it felt like to be one of the only Real Madrid players from Nigeria

Playing alongside three great coaches in Luis Miguel Ramis, Alberto Toril and Igor Jovićević at Castilla

Training with the first team, and the best player he came across

Playing in the World Cup and scoring against Spain

Winning the African Cup of Nations

Scoring against Real Madrid, and playing at the Santiago Bernabéu

Life as a La Liga ambassador

Who is the best player to come onto the ManagingMadrid podcast, Adepoju or Geremi?

    And far more.
