Myth Busting with Barbara Mayfield: Not All RDs Have To Work in Clinical!
Summary: RDA guest Barbara Mayfield tells Austin and Marissa all about her career as a registered dietitian. Though she has had many jobs, Barbara has never worked a single day as a clinical dietitian for the simple reason that that is not what drives her. Her passion for nutrition communication and the strong network she has built over the years has guided her through a fulfilling career with jobs in various settings. Barbara started out in private practice (!) and has worked as a consultant in a nursing home, with WIC, as a professor at Purdue University and as an author for a textbook just to name a few jobs. Though she is now retired, she is still working in the field as she is currently writing the one and only textbook geared towards nutrition communication.
