Whiskey and Ry
Over the past 5 years host, Ryan Charles Brown has given over 7,500 Uber/Lyft rides around the city of Los Angeles. In this time, he heard stories from people traveling in from all parts of the world. Some of the stories that were shared included, rites of passage into “manhood”, what it might mean to “be a man” today and in the future, and how can men participate in dismantling toxic masculinity? Then one night, while sipping some whiskey at a bar with a friend, Whiskey & Ry was born. The Social Club we are building seeks a conversation that would cross multiple boundaries and build bridges into areas of conversation that have been “cut off” by the traditional interpretation of masculinity and what it means to be a man today. Whiskey & Ry provides a pathway into an honest, vulnerable, and courageous dialogue about topics that will both interest and challenge listeners to think deeper into ways in which men can be a part of the movement to promote men's self-care and healthy expressions of masculinity. Loving the positive masculinity podcast!

In the midst of the #metoo movement, gender equality shift, and even unhealthy backlashing - this podcast addresses healthy masculinity, healthy male mindsets, healthy ways to partner with men, and provides a space for both men and women to understand and connect with the vulnerable and authentic side of the male experience. Ryan exposes us, through his own experience, his Uber passenger conversations, and through his podcast guests, to an intimate dialogue around what it means to “be a man” in today’s society as well as navigating topics around communication, partnership, work, family, purpose, falling short, and living life to the fullest as a modern man. As a woman listener, I feel like I have permission to look into the male psyche with new eyes. Thank you!
