Here are some things diets never teach us.

How to keep going when our initial excitement and motivation goes away (and I probably don't have to tell you this - IT WILL).

How we keep up with ALL the things they tell us to do...ESPECIALLY on our most difficult days.

You know the days your kid's sick at home, the dog pukes on the floor, the boss is waiting on your report and your husband's asking you when dinner's going to be ready.

Diet's don't teach us that - instead they tell us all the things we should be doing - and then tell us to try harder and try to be more positive when we don't.

SPOILER ALERT:  This doesn't work!

They tell you they have the perfect recipe for you to lose weight fast but they're missing the most essential ingredients.

And that's why we start and stop them over and over again.

In fact most New Year's diets don't even make it past the first month.
