Hi, I’m Dax Shepard, and I love talking to people. I am endlessly fascinated by the messiness of being human, and I find people who are vulnerable and honest about their struggles and shortcomings to be incredibly sexy. I invite you to join me as I explore other people’s stories. We will celebrate, above all, the challenges and setbacks that ultimately lead to growth and betterment. What qualifies me for such an endeavor? More than a decade of sobriety, a degree in Anthropology and four years of improv training. I will attempt to discover human “truths” without any laboratory work, clinical trials or data collection. I will be, in the great tradition of 16th-century scientists, an Armchair Expert.

O for Awesome
Great podcast and interesting hearing a kiwis perspective on line in America.
Flightless bird
Interesting enough once the Kiwi gets to the part where it’s just him recounting his research and opinions and even wonderment but the ‘casual conversation’ that meanders in and out by way of an introduction and is with a local or two is just plain irritating! It goes nowhere, is personal and often irrelevant and boring and delivered in the worlds most nasal voice or accompanied by much laughter- so much laughter that content becomes lost is awful and has made me turn it off before we get to the real content. Pity and there is huge potential for a fascinating take on a country at more than tourist level.
My absolute favourite!
I love this podcast so much. The honesty, the humour, the banter, it’s all wonderful. I enjoy the experts as much as the ‘regular’ guests. Dax & Monica’s relationship is beautiful to listen to and I adore the way they share so much with us.
