Welcome to the Badass Babes of Entertainment! On our twentieth episode of season 2, we chat with Bianca Wallace. She is now navigating the film industry after departing her job in Accounting to pursue her dreams of acting and writing. She made the drastic change after her Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis and continues to push forward despite the odds being against her. Since making the dramatic life change she has been involved in a number of independent films and series, worked with the brilliant Baz Luhrmann on his project “Elvis” and her feature film A Ray of Sunshine is now in development, set to begin filming next year.

Entertainment Business and Transactional Attorney is Founder and Managing Partner at Lastine Entertainment Law LLP. The former Lionsgate and ViacomCBS attorney launched his firm, Lastine Impressions, in 2021. As an entertainment lawyer, Joshua R. Lastine protects the artistry and livelihood of actors, production companies, writers, producers, directors, animators, social media influencers, and podcasters. A strategic negotiator, a fierce advocate for talent, and a practical problem solver, Lastine strengthens his counsel with an indelible passion for show business, its players, and creators. Lastine understands how to structure and close the deals shaping the future of the entertainment industry. Recent examples include critically acclaimed streaming series, musicians’ NFTs, and mixed-reality productions in the Metaverse.

Joshua Lastine finds new opportunities in Hollywood. He is a seasoned professor at the renowned Los Angeles Film School. He joined the school in February 2019 and teaches various Entertainment Business courses—including “Entertainment Business Law 101” and “Entertainment Business and Media Ethics.”
Lastine negotiated such notable breakthroughs as the first full-frontal, transgender nudity rider for television (“Transparent”), working through sensitivities with talent, agents, intimacy coordinators, and studio executives. He also negotiated the deals for the first all-female writers’ room (“I Love Dick”) on behalf of the Studio. Lastine’s experience in Studio business and legal affairs includes positions with ViacomCBS, Lions Gate, Marvel Studios, Starz, Discovery Studios, and Creative Artists Agency. He began his career as a legal intern on American Idol.

In his representations, Lastine structures, negotiates, and drafts contracts and paperwork on behalf of entertainment talent clientele, including rights acquisitions, development/production deals, branding/commercial advertising deals, talent deals, and other contracts for new media, social media, and the Internet 3.0. From $100M+ Netflix series to $30K YouTube branding, endorsement and commercial deals, his production legal and talent transactions have spanned a wide breadth of media and projects. Lastine also represents several animation studios (Baobab, Wattpad Webtoons, Rooster Teeth Animation), and celebrity/influencer talent (Dedee Pfeiffer, Andrew Walker, and Kensington Tallman).

She has been performing since she was 5 years old before her first TV appearance on 2 episodes of The Rosie O'Donnell Show in the second grade. At age 11, she appeared on the Off-Broadway production of "I Never Saw Another Butterfly." She studied and performed at Stagedoor Manor, Neighborhood Playhouse Jrs, The New York Film Academy, Stuyvesant High School, and Brandeis University.

Shortly after her college graduation, Michelle returned to NYC to pursue her professional career. Her Television stints include the title character an an episode of MTV's 'One Bad Choice: Dona Huertas,' a co-star role on the CBS drama 'Blue Bloods,' and a co-star role on the SHOWTIME drama 'Homeland.' Film credits include a principal role in "Winter's Tale" starring Russell Crowe, Will Smith, Jennifer Connelly, and Colin Farrell, as well as a lead in the Sci-fi auteur Brett Piper directed "Queen Crab," to name a few. She has also played supporting roles in the award nominated film "Bomber Jackets" (Golden Door International Film Festival) and the Web Series "Youstar: Road to Fame" (The Geekie Awards). Michelle has also been in various Commercials, Industrials, and Training Videos.

On our sixteenth episode of season 2, we interview Steven Tylor O’Connor is an Emmy and Artios Award-winning Casting Director at Aufiero/Horn Casting, winning an Emmy in 2021 for “The Healing Powers of Dude” (Netflix) and being honored as Casting Associate of the year in 2019 by the Casting Society of America, and winning an Artios for “Andi Mack” (Disney). Steven has been recognized two additional times with Artios nominations.

A member of the Casting Society of America, he sits on the Equity in Entertainment Committee for the National Board and has championed inclusive casting for underrepresented communities. Steven began his career in New York City working for CBS/Paramount and then NBCUniversal. Now based in Los Angeles, Steven has worked with numerous award-winning and leading casting offices, including Greenstein/Daniels Casting (TVLand’s “Hot In Cleveland”), Suzanne Goddard-Smythe Casting (Disney’s “Shake It Up”, “Crash and Bernstein”, “Liv & Maddie”, and “KC Undercover”, BET’s “The Game” and “Heathers: The Musical” (both the world premiere at the Hudson and Off-Broadway productions).

Steven is currently a Casting Director / Casting Associate at Aufiero/Horn casting, where other notable projects include: Local Casting Director for Netflix’s banner series “13 Reasons Why”, Disney’s “Andi Mack”, Netflix’s “The OA: Part II”, Facebook’s “Five Points”, and SpectreVision’s (Elijah Wood) “Seven Stages to Achieve Eternal Bliss” and “Color Out of Space.” Steven received an Artios nomination for his work on Nickelodeon’s Emmy award-winning comedy series “Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn” and two nominations (one win) for Disney’s “Andi Mack.”

As a producer, Steven has worked on the Emmy nominated and Indie Series Award-winning series "Indoor Boys." He’s also won several awards for his short films.

On our fifteenth episode of season 2, we interviewed Michele Hanisee has been a Deputy District Attorney for the County of Los Angeles for 22 years.  She has tried over 100 jury trials including 44 murders.  She spent five years in the Hardcore Gang Division and the past ten years in the Major Crimes Division.  She is author of the “California Gang Crimes Manual.”   She co-authored Proposition 66, the Death Penalty Reform and Savings Act of 2016, which was enacted by the voters.  She is currently the President of the Association of Deputy District Attorneys, which represents nearly 900 Los Angeles Deputy District Attorneys.


As a quick bonus we interviewed several great guests at a local event called “Meet in Malibu”; where Brenda Fisher was joined by Badass co-Host Terra Newell, who took down Con man Dirty John.
