She is the recipient of a North Carolina Arts Council Literature Fellowship, and her essay collection, All the Colors We Will See, was a Fall 2018 Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers selection. When she’s not writing, she speaks about how personal storytelling can change people’s mindsets in pursuit of healing in society and a more equitable world.
