Blessings Part 2 The Forge

    • Christianity

Jesus’ solitude and silence is a major theme in the Gospels. His ongoing, intimate relationship with his Abba was the source of his compassion, wisdom, and power that we see on every page of the Gospels.

Mark 1:12, Luke 5:16, Luke 6:12, Mark 1:35-38, Matthew 13:1, Matthew 14:13, Matthew 14:22-24, Mark 6:3-47, Matthew 26:36-44

Common Introjects
I Am:
Rejected Never enough
Abandoned Clueless - Don’t know what I’m doing
Criticized Damaged goods
Judged Behind and always will be
Invisible Loser - never amount to anything
Unloved Not good enough
Stupid Not trusted
Powerless Too emotional
A Failure Alone

Our Father in Heaven, hallowed by Your name, Adoration, Praise
Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Invitation
Give us today our daily bread. Supplication, Needs
Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. Confession
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.  Spiritual warfare

Questions?
1. What keeps you from spending time in solitude with God?
(Busy, Insecurity, Fear, Pride, Selfishness)

2. What does your prayer time with God look like? The dead drop? The one-direction conversation? An open back and forth of talking and listening?

3. Which of these introjects feel familiar to you? Or another that isn’t on the list? Where do they send you?

4. Which of these benefits do you need in your life right now?
Peace, Perspective, Purpose

5. What is one thing you could do to incorporate Solitude and Prayer into your life this week?
