Cooperative Kids: the communication styles that get their authentic attention. Part 2 of 3. (Ep. 08‪)‬ Enlightened Moms, Raising Evolved Kids!

    • Spirituality

Do your kids ever act a little rebellious or tune you out in the midst of discipline?

In today’s episode I’m going to discuss the second tool to getting more cooperation from your kids: “I need” statements.

In the last episode (ep. 07) we discussed transforming negative statements into positive statements. Over time this becomes more natural with practice and can “program” our kids to put a positive spin on things!

In this episode I give you examples of ways to create “I need” statements instead of “STOP doing xyz” which can sometimes be statements which create lasting shame in our kids. Instead of shaming we can instill EMPATHY in our kids with our discipline.

Question of the day: after you practice some “I need” statements, please go to the facebook group below and let us know what they were and how it went!
