Deep Exhalations Meditation Meditate with Andrea

Total time: 7 minutes 50 seconds. By changing our breathing, we can change the way we handle ourselves and the world around us. In this short breathing meditation, we will increase the length of our exhales. By increasing the length of the out-breath, we can provide a sense of deep relaxation to the vagus nerve, which will allow for increased parasympathetic system activity, helping us to find a deeper sense of calm and relaxation. This may help when feeling fatigued or overworked, anxious, or restless.

You can do this meditation while seated or lying down and is best done when wearing headphones. You might find this meditation to be particularly helpful right after you wake up or right before sleep. Please do not use this meditation while driving.
