The old friends I have never met

Listening to Dispatch to a Friend is like being wrapped in a warm blanket of friendship and community across the miles. These gentle stories are a antidote to busy and stress and a highlight of my podcast listening.

Dear Annie and Gillian

Your last podcast had me laughing along with Annie and crying with Gillian. Gillian’s reaction to that most wonderful and delightful birthday dinner made me stop, reflect and acknowledge that I don’t tell my family and friends how special they are. So thank you for that reminder.

I’ve started to think of you both as friends even though we are never likely to meet. I can’t wait for your upcoming trip together and not only hearing of the garden visits but your conversations and adventures, I will be tagging along too.

Mind how you both go xx

Thankyou for joining me on my walk this morning, your wonderful letters and stories are the best company. You’ve mentioned both persimmons and pecans several times in your podcasts and recently a friend gave me a bag of persimmons. I googled a recipe, and found and baked a Spicey Persimmon and Pecan cake! It was delicious, especially served warm with dollops of whipped cream. However I’m sure Gillian would come up with something sublime.
