Everything Our Daughters Need to Know About Their Changing Bodies with Jenn Pike The Simplicity Sessions

    • Alternative Health

This episode is dedicated to what our daughters need to know about their changing bodies, their hormones, and their health. This time I am talking about eight to thirteen years old girls, the signs and symptoms of puberty coming on, and then the different transformations happening during the teen years and early twenties.

There are serious gaps in the education and information that is delivered to children and adolescents, and my aim today is to give valuable information about the female body, its chemistry, physiology, and biology, focusing on the hormonal and endocrine systems.

Being a woman is amazing and I want every girl to truly believe in this and to know that health is possible in every stage, phase and age.

These are the main topics of an awesome show:
● The menstrual cycle is the fifth vital sign of health. ● Cycle tracking helps doctors to make an early diagnosis of reproductive health issues. ● Our periods should not debilitate us. ● Puberty does not start with the first cycle. ● The follicular stimulating hormone is the one responsible for ovulation. ● We go through puberty twice as women. ● Signs and symptoms of puberty coming in. ● Introduce your daughter to an all-natural deodorant. ● The whole family needs to be included in this conversation. ● Download a period tracking app and teach your daughter to write down her symptoms. ● What is precocious or early puberty telling you? ● How dairy and carbohydrates can affect a girl’s body. ● How to decrease painful periods. ● The right testing to run. ● Check her weight and level of activity. ● From 13 to 20 our body is working in better establishing a rhythm. ● The effects of taking birth control pills. ● The cycle and periods’ lengths. ● The different phases of a cycle. ● Acne and skin changes. ● The truth about PCOS. ● Fertility is about taking care of the reproductive system, not about getting pregnant. ● Be there for your daughter by guiding her to a nutritious diet! ● Key supplements to support your daughter’s growth and health: Probiotics, Magnesium, B Vitamins, Vitamin D, and quality iron. ● Use organic hygiene products or menstrual cups.   Growing up is very intense for so many reasons, it is critical to teach our girls about their bodies, but also about taking care of themselves, so they don't grow up into women who put everything and everyone above themselves.
