Femmes in Film Spotlight Series focuses on empowering and supporting women and femme-identifying students and industry professionals. Our spotlight series features interviews of film students at Swinburne and industry experts. Our first episode focuses on Tabitha Hilbig. Tabitha has already completed two certificates and is now studying a Diploma of Film and TV, all at Swinburne. Tabitha is one of the 3 student reps of her class, the dux for her editing unit in semester one, and was supposed to be a volunteer at the Swinburne open day, as well as at MIFF, however, covid prevented both those events. For the last 5 years, she has photographed and video graphed for professional theatre companies, at opening nights, rehearsals, and media events through a theatre journalism website, and has more recently started to conduct her own interviews.

She is currently producing the short dramedy film Work It Out which follows a breakup between a newly accepted law student, and an ostentatious poet.  @work.it.out_official
