The American Dream and culture has brainwashed us into thinking that we should go alone, throw people away and "pull ourselves up by our own bootstraps". Whether you want to start a business, movement, change the world, it's so important to be rooted in community. Black folks have always been a communal people, and we believe that community is the KEY to success in all regards. In order to build the New Black Dream, we have to let go of the American Dream.
