The GreenLea Story
I wanted to bring a long term dream of mine to life. To connect with people from all areas of life, planting seeds of inspiration through the sharing of stories and slowly cultivating these into opportunities for knowledge, growth and connection. All episodes will be a little rough around the edges, a little less sparkly than your regular ones, but I prefer the real journey to come alive through each episode, I'm happy for comments or suggestions too!

    The First Episode: Sarah Birch

I'm incredibly excited to welcome you to the very first episode of GreenLea, the podcast.  I speak to Sarah Birch, a climate adaptation professional who hails from the Western Cape in South Africa. She started her career in the environmental sector and has grown diversely across conservation and into climate change and more recently into climate change coaching.

Sarah is a deeply passionate climate change adaptation professional, she understands that in order to face climate change, one cannot go it alone, or simply, there is great strength in numbers.  She cares greatly about the empowerment of others by working with them through challenges and finding sustainable solutions for the long-term protection of the environment.

In our talk, she takes me through her career journey, how she got to where she is today and the future she envisions. She also shares some personal tips for remaining positive in the face of climate change, what she does and actions YOU can do for your bit to help the environment.

Currently Sarah works with provincial(regional) government, where she helps shape and build (climate) resilience, through equipping local services with the tools and knowledge (know how) to tackle climate change challenges.

Through her own lived experiences as a climate change professional, mother and coach, she noticed an opportunity to create a unique blend of coaching focussing on Health and Wellness and Climate Change adaptation. She welcomes individuals, leaders and professionals into her coaching practices.

Should you be interested in connecting with her, please do let me know. Alternatively, she has a LinkedIn and Instagram Page:

    The GreenLea Story

Instead of allowing social media habits to dominate my spare time, I wanted to bring a long term dream of mine to life.

My long term outlook for GreenLea is to share the monumental work being done by so many for the environment, for themselves, for their communities and the world. I hope that through uncovering lived experiences, stories and suggestions these start to add to the greater good and to uplift YOU the listener.

In each episode I talk to a guest, asking them about their career and life journey, and for green or life advice. I hope that perhaps you'll even find an opportunity to connect! Adding to my interviews, I'm always on the look out for articles, posts or other pieces about the environment and promoting areas opportunities to contribute to combatting climate change.

Like an ecosystem, there are drivers,  components, connections, which altogether are interwoven allowing an environment to flourish, this is what I want for GreenLea and the GreenLea community.

If you're keen on joining as a guest or contributor in some way, please email me: grelea786@gmail.com

I look forward to hearing from YOU dear listener!
