On the night of 9th November 1996, Alana Cecil, who had only recently turned 16, was excited to attend the Djerriwah Bonfire Festival in the small city of Melton, just out of Melbourne in Victoria, Australia. When she left home that night it would be the last time her family would ever see her alive. Sometime in the early hours of November 10th 1996, someone or some people took a syringe and injected Alana Cecil twice, once in each arm, with a lethal dose of Heroin. They then dumped her body in the back driveway of a vacant home. Eight years later a DNA breakthrough identified the semen of two men on and in Alana's body. One being a 49 year old man known to Police, who when questioned by Police simply answered 'No Comment'.
Neither these men, nor anyone else has ever been held accountable or responsible for Alana's death. And neither men have been able to offer a valid reason their DNA was present.
For 28 years Alana's family have fought for answers, and justice for Alana. Now through this podcast we're hoping that with your help those responsible for her death will finally get what they deserve.

Season Three
In 1989 two Swedish backpackers, Heidi Paakkonen and Sven Urban Hoglin arrived in New Zealand for the trip of a lifetime. And never went home. They were last seen alive together in Thames on April 7th 1989. One year after their mysterious disappearance Urban Hoglin's body would be found and confirmed a brutal murder. But to this day Heidi's body has never been found. Season 3 of GUILT will see Ryan attempt to finally bring an end to this mystery and send Heidi home to her family where she belongs. Ryan will uncover never before heard witnesses, fresh evidence in a Season of the podcast that really has to be heard to be believed.
Season Two
21st June 2004, Jim Donnelly goes to work as usual at the Glenbrook Steel Mill, places his lunch on the bench, gets changed into his work clothes - and is never seen again. In Season Two of Guilt Ryan travels to Waiuku New Zealand in an attempt to finally solve this 18 year mystery, and discovers a baffling and mysterious story with twists at every turn.

I’m buckling myself in for the roller coaster ride
Here we go again Ryan has found yet another case that is far from being black and white.
I cannot wait to see what examining all the rabbit holes reveal. But mostly I love the way he keeps the impacted parties close to us so we feel the his deep desire to find answers for those that deserve it. I Love this Podcast and have the Tshirt.
Compelling
Currently in the middle of S3, a totally compelling listen about a murder case I remember so clearly from my childhood.
Total immersion: The narrator actually makes you feel like you are investigating along with him
Well worth listening to all seasons. I felt like I was at each location (to do that well takes a talented narrator/writer). The stories were from true mysteries that at the time they happened and the years afterwards many of us wondered what really happened. Good to hear that these cases have had new angles. And that’s due to the relentless persistence of the narrator/writer digging literally and figuratively for the truth. Even putting his safety at risk.
The phone interview with a new suspect in a session 3 episode, was utterly chilling. He knows full well what happened and I believe he knows where Heidi is. Although I think the narrator /Journalist should have told that nasty suspect he’d meet him in a cafe alone, but still secretly brought undercover backup. As that would have got more answers. But I wasn’t there to know all the dynamics of that situation. And the suspect was one evil unpredictable man. His voice and words were enough to tell me he was incredibly dangerous and sadistic. He even let too much slip that made the hairs on the back of my neck stick up.
The only small issue I had with the podcast was a couple of episodes were a little repetitive. I think the audience is bright enough not to have to hear things overly repeated.? Reminders are important though, so is a fine balance. And it wasn’t bad enough to change the 5 star rating. Definitely a 5 star podcast.
So i think if something needs reminding listeners, like a name or a set of events that now tie in with another set of events then that definitely need to remind us. And I reckon though to best keep those bits brief because just a small reminder, makes us remember a lot more.. The narrator/writer mostly did a good job of that anyway. And better than most podcasts that ruin their series with regurgitating over and ove the same thing. An example of that was a couple of podcasts by The Australian. That writer ruined a good story.
Another good thing with the Guilt podcast was the sound was pretty good too, although some volume differences could be levelled a little better (especially the phone calls). But most people won’t notice that
