Jessie’s Girl with Jaime Moyer Anthem Of Life

    • Comedy

Speed Dating. Doors. Deer Pee. Can you be too lucky at love? Justine wrestles with this idea as she tries to put herself out there after her stressful, on-again-off-again relationship with Jessie. From obsession to loaded potato skins, Justine and Douglas explore the philosophical quandaries of the heart in The Anthem of Justine.
OUR GUEST: Jaime Moyer
Jaime Moyer is an actress and improviser in Los Angeles CA. Some of her favorite credits include The Great North, Modern Family and AP Bio. You can find out a whole lot more about Jaime on Instagram and Tik Tok @Jamdetroit and her website www.jaimemoyer.com.
THE SONG:
"Jessie's Girl" is a song written and performed by Australian singer Rick Springfield. It was released on the album Working Class Dog in February 1981. "Jessie's Girl" was slow to become popular. It hit the Billboard chart in March but took 19 weeks to hit #1…at the time, one of the slowest climbs ever. It remained at #1 for two weeks and was Springfield’s only #1 hit. "Jessie's Girl" was at #1 when MTV launched on August 1st, 1981. The song also peaked at No. 1 in Springfield's native Australia and later won him a Grammy Award. Rick Springfield spent the 70s grinding away as both a singer and an actor. 1981 was his breakout year. In February, he released Working Class Dog, and a month later, he started appearing on the soap opera General Hospital in a regular role as Dr. Noah Drake. “Jessie’s Girl” started climbing the charts soon after, bolstered by his popularity on General Hospital. “Jessie’s Girl” was covered by The Chipmunks, using the same instrumental backing track. You can check it out on their 1982 album, Chipmunk Rock. Link to OfficialVideo
