    Ep. 4: Nettie J. Asberry

    In this episode of Long Shadows of Seattle, host Stellan Harris covers the history of Nettie J. Asberry (1865-1968). Asberry was a music teacher and prominent community member. She helped found the Clover Leaf Art Club, one of the first African American Women’s clubs in the state. She was also a part of the Washington State Federation of Colored Women’s Organizations, Tacoma chapter of the NAACP, Tacoma Inter-Racial Council, and the Progressive Mother's Club of Tacoma.

    Ep. 3: Florestine "Flo" Ware

    In this episode of Long Shadows of Seattle, host Stellan Harris covers the history of Forestine "Flo" Ware (1915-1981). Ware moved to Seattle in 1940 and became a business owner in the late 1950's. She known for being a caravan leader of the Poor People's campaign and running for the House of Representatives with a platform to support poor, Black community members of Seattle.

    Ep. 2: Daisy Tibbs Dawson

    In this episode of Long Shadows of Seattle, host Stellan Harris covers the history of Daisy Tibbs Dawson (1924-2013). Dawson was a peace activist and educator and the only Black person to be memorialized in the Hiroshima Peace Memorial. She is most known for her work in Hiroshima, Japan in 1949 on the "Houses for Hiroshima" program, where she helped rebuild housing that was destroyed by the atomic bomb.
