Originally from St Helens, Merseyside, Michael rose to fame through his portrayal of the notorious Ross Barton on ITVs Emmerdale, and has since enjoyed success working across film and television on both sides of the Atlantic.
In this honest conversation, Michael describes what it’s like to be a dyslexic television star, the impact dyslexia has had on his confidence and outlook on life, and the profound experience of working as a teaching assistant for a class of children with learning difficulties.
