Colossae was a city caught in the crosshairs of economic stagnation, political strife, and cultural confusion. This small gathering of Christians found themselves lost in the midst of religious fundamentalism and pagan rituals.

They were threatened, uncertain, disoriented, and trying to find their way in this new life Jesus had given them.

And so Paul takes them to the heights, to a vantage point above it all…

We're working our way through Colassians as a community, praying that Paul's letter illuminates to us what it did to the church in Colassae . Jesus is above it all.

From Adam and Eve, to this very day, every generation is faced with a choice–will we live with the standards of the world, the flesh, and the devil as our point of view, or through intention, practice, and faith live with the Kingdom of God, the Spirit, and Jesus Christ as the clarifying lens through which we see and experience life as He sees it and intended it to be–a life of abundance, humility, generosity, joy, peace, and love as Jesus promised.
