Humbling delve into history of Waikato
As pākehā feel it is important to understand collective history so have this a listen, found it a really well produced, balanced and at times saddening account of the Tanui wars and the invasion of the Waikato. Really recommend this for all aotearoa

Eye opening and shattering
I came to listen to this podcast with almost zero knowledge about the New Zealand wars despite the fact that I have grown up in New Zealand.
This podcast is a fantastic overview of the Taunui wars. It shared historic accounts of the wars from a range of sources (both written and verbal, both Maori and Pakeha) and discussed the wars from many angles.
The result is informative, enlightening and devastating. I am just stunned and horrified at the actions of the British soldiers e.g. the massacre of Rangiaowhia. And also impressed by the leadership of the Kingitanga movement for Maori and men such as Wiremu Tamihana.
A good way to begin my learning about the history of this country I live in.
