Dr Tennant's Verbal Highs is a conversational podcast with people who create & innovate in their chosen art form, vocation, back shed, main stage, peer group, or shower cubicle. From a kitchen bench in Auckland, New Zealand, Lewis Tennant explores the lives & thoughts of the likes of musicians, writers, film makers, actors, and comedians... also hosting those that make things happen side of stage, below the line, and under the radar. Though the initial line-up of guests practice in the creative arts or media, the podcast is about people, candid conversations, and interesting observations. In other words hopefully there will be a decent chef on at some point, maybe followed later by a butcher, a baker, and a candlestick maker... And perhaps most importantly, if you like what you hear please click and share individual podcasts or the website in general amongst your electronic friends.

Interesting people.

Some very interesting NZ people interviewed on this podcast series, the like you don't normally hear much about because they aren't the brash self promoting type or darlings of social media. Substance rather than style are these people and they have very interesting stories.

I’m new to podcasts...

I drive many kilometres in my job each week so my husband suggested I try listen to podcasts and suggested this one. It’s great and makes the drive from Nelson to Blenheim totally do-able! Good length, easy to listen to and great topics.

Cultral significance

Something familiar and warm about having Dr Tennat and his guests in my ear. It is now part of my driving routine. Seatbelts, mirrors, Verbal Highs check.
Its more then a snapshot of Newzealanders. Its fast becoming important in terms of a cultral narrative that defines who we are. His guests are important Taonga and the stories and histroy are being passed down verbally for future generations. Just as our Ancestors passed down their stories for us to remember.
