    Please help us welcome Sam Drummond to the podcast. Sam is a Discrimination Lawyer who lives in Naarm (Melbourne), is a self-confessed tea connoisseur, and loves gardening. Throughout his life, he's also been a radio producer, political adviser and lawyer. 

    Sam is also an ambassador for IncludeAbility, "an initiative of the Australian Human Rights Commission (the Commission) developed to increase meaningful employment opportunities for people with disability, and to close the gap in workforce participation between people with disability and people without disability."

    Throughout COVID lockdowns, Sam became a fan of Nordic and Korean cinema. For this episode of ReFramed, Sam chose to review 'Everybody Hates Johan' - "a comedy about Johan Grande's adventurous life, and his long-lasting battle to win over the love of his life, Solvor, who he accidentally blew up a bit in his teens."The film includes disability representation, through the character Solvor.

    ReFramed Episode 25 - Emily Dash + 'Switched At Birth'

    If you don't already know Emily, she's an emerging writer, actor, producer and speaker. She's also a disability advocate with an emphasis on social inclusion. Emily recently joined the Attitude Foundation Board of Directors, and we're so excited to have her on the podcast.

    Joined by Robyn Lambird & Jason Clymo, the trio review 'Switched At Birth'. The series ran from 2011 - 2017 on ABC Family, and  revolves around two teenagers who were switched at birth and grew up in very different environments: one in an affluent suburb, and the other in a working-class neighbourhood. 

    One of the main characters, Daphne, is Deaf - and 'Switched At Birth' has been both praised and critiqued for its portrayal of disability. According to ABC Family, it is "the first mainstream television series to have multiple deaf and hard-of-hearing series regulars and scenes shot entirely in American Sign Language (ASL)"

    Anja is a disability advocate and social entrepreneur. Her business - ‘Champion Health Agency’ - is a world first talent agency professionalising the lived experiences of people with disability, chronic illness and carers, in order to create meaningful change.

    'Heartbreak High' (the 2022 Australian series) stars Chloe Hayden as Quinni, a young autistic woman.

    Luke is a brilliant activist and business owner of Deaf Identity - a clothing brand that was born out of his love for fashion whilst raising Deaf awareness.

    Joined by Steph and Jason, Luke helps us review the 2022 reboot of 'Queer as Folk', which features a number of disabled actors - including Ryan O'Connell, Nyle Dimarco and Andrew Gurza. 

    This episode is a celebration of every queer disabled person who has been yearning for better representation on screen.

    Meet Michelle Roger on this week's episode of ReFramed! 

    Michelle is a writer, artist, photographer and model who is passionately pushing for better representation of people with disability in those industries. She has also been using her platform on social media to run a project called "Up and Dressed", which explores fashion and disability. 

    Joined by Steph and Jason, Michelle helps us analyse the show 'The L Word Gen Q', which features Jillian Mercado. The show is a sequel series to 'The L Word' which aired from 2004 to 2009 and amassed a huge fan base. Similar to its predecessor, this series follows the lives of a queer group of friends who live in Los Angeles, California.
