    Christchurch Hospital's new Acute Services Building finally has an opening date of November 16th - after two years of delays, at least $80 million over budget.
    The big move is bittersweet for staff because it's not a solution to the health board's capacity problems and it won't fully replace the old hospital, as hoped.

    All work at the Pike River mine has stopped after an unusual substance found on the roof and walls of the main entry tunnel was identified as a carcinogen.
    The Pike River Recovery Agency is not saying what the carcinogen is but says that as soon as testing confirmed it, those underground were pulled out.
