Donbalmero ,

Thank you

Wish I’d had these insights into our history when I was younger. I am fascinated with the events but also, as always in human conflict, filled with sadness and regret on the utter futility of war, ultimately caused by arrogance, ignorance, bigotry and avarice (British colonialism in this case, but all too human unfortunately). As Carl Marlantes said “We’re not the top species on the plant because we’re nice”).
We have come a long way as a nation, a species, but there is still so much of past wrongs and atrocities that need to be redressed and healed if we are truely to become enlightened and a cohesive society that truely make progress.
Hope to hear and see more NZ history like this series which is accessible to all. We’ll done RNZ and all involved. Thank you!

Best series I’ve ever listened to

Robust look at this part of the NZ wars with insight coming from contemporary and historical voices, opening up a pivotal chapter of NZ history in a capturing manner, humbling to hear these reflections Ngā mihinui ki Ngā kaimahi o tēnei punua pāoho

Read a book instead

Interesting topic but surprisingly poorly researched, not a very balanced take on history.
