Summer Slam: Da 5 Bloods, The Woods, Perry Mason, The Great and a Whole Lot More!

Yes, summer is here and normally we'd be lining up at theaters to see blockbusters and soak up the air conditioning. But we're all home and soaking up our own air conditioning, or just using a fan if that's all you've got. But you still want to watch something and we've sorted through this week's picks for you. We start with Spike Lee's latest "Da 5 Bloods" which is on Netflix. It's about four African American vets who battle the forces of man and nature when they return to Vietnam seeking the remains of their fallen squad leader and the gold fortune he helped them hide. That's the plot but Spike has plenty of his own touches. Bill Bregoli talks about "The Woods" which is a new Netflix series based on a Harlan Coben novel. And we discuss "Perry Mason," the new HBO re-imagining of the classic TV series which itself was based on novels by Erle Stanley Gardner and stars Matthew Rhys of "The Americans" in the title role. Bill McCuddy talks about the Hulu series "The Great" which stars Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult. There's more of course but you'll have to listen in!

Neil gets deep with "The Not Too Late Show with Elmo" and Bill McCuddy has "Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story" which stars Amanda Peet in the title role. And of course we've got lots of other things to talk about. So grab a glass of something cold and listen in.
