That One Episode of Star Trek: “Disaster”

That One Episode of Star Trek: “Disaster”

I wonder what happens in this episode?

What doesn't happen in this episode? Picard drafts children in to Starfleet, Riker plays with Data's head, Worf pretends to be a doctor, and Geordi attempts to space himself and Dr. Crusher after being forced to sing in front of her. What a Disaster!

That One Episode of Star Trek returns for absolutely no good reason. Featuring ExVee, HeyMickey, and Ken, this may not be the podcast you want, or even need. But it's definitely the podcast you deserve.

TOEOST will be running about twice per month, except when it doesn't. If you want to get new episodes as soon as possible, consider becoming a patron. Episodes debut for patrons about two weeks before they get posted for everyone else, and honestly, aren't we worth it?

And we somehow avoided making a Baby Yoda joke for the entire recording.

TNG's second season kicked off with "The Child", which did a good bit to tell viewers what to expect for the year to come. Despite this, the show was renewed for a third season.

That One Episode of Star Trek: “In The Cards”

It's a Jake and Nog episode; what could possibly go wrong?

This week, we find out what happens when you try to do a nice thing for someone, expecting nothing more in return than to help make someone's day a little brighter, in Deep Space Nine's "In The Cards".

Our return episode is "Meld", from the second season of Star Trek Voyager. I can't tell you how long HeyMickey has been pushing to do a podcast about this episode. But is an episode about a serial killer Betazoid and his special relationship with Tuvok really that good?

    (yes, actually)

Superhero Time Presents: That One Episode of Star Trek “Encounter at Farpoint”

Superhero Time Presents: That One Episode of Star Trek “Encounter at Farpoint”

Don't call it a comeback. Because it isn't. This week, ExVee, HeyMickey, Melllvarr, and Moloth return to take a special look at the very first episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation. And if you can say one thing about "Encounter at Farpoint," it's that it certainly was the first episode of TNG. It's a shame we didn't brush up on some of the production background of the episode before recording, as that would really have shed some light on some of the issues we raised as we went through.

If this is your first episode of That One Episode of Star Trek, I'm sorry. But also, you might like to take a look at the rest of the series in the archives. TOEOST spent 100 episodes lovingly, or sometimes incredulously, deconstructing episodes from all the Star Trek series - including every single episode of Star Trek: The Animated Series! What an achievement! Anyway, if you want to hear more of our thoughts on Star Trek, you'll have to listen to the old episodes, cause no way in hell I'm letting this happen again.

Superhero Time Presents: That One Episode Of Star Trek “Threshold”

The Last One Episode of Star Trek! Voyager's infamous space salamanders episode Threshold marks the 100th episode, and the finale of That One Episode of Star Trek. This is the episode that set the pattern for 99 previous podcasts, and what a ride it's been! What have we seen in this time? Well, jump in to the full post and let's find out!

    WARNING: Explicit language

Since June of 2015, we've gone all across the rich expanse of what Star Trek has to offer, spanning from Planet Africa, Neelix having his lifelong faith painfully stripped away (not to mention his lungs), Nog losing a leg, Piglet being Jack The Ripper and making Scotty murder whores, a comprehensive(?) analysis of the complete run of Star Trek The Animated series, and probably even a movie or two. Oh, and let's not forget the most recent contribution: Powering a starship's experimental drive system with shrooms.

It's been a long road, getting from there to here. It's been a long time, but my time is finally here. I can see my dream come alive at last: The podcast is saying good bye. From all of us who have taken part in bringing you Superhero Time in whatever form for the past 8 years (the day of posting is the anniversary of our first episode debut!) thanks for sticking with us! Your loyalty has baffled us for most of a decade. We hope you've enjoyed what we've had to offer, but expect that you probably didn't. And we're perfectly okay with that.

And thank you to my friends who joined me in hosting, and the friends I made in the course of this, HeyMickey, Paladin, FortMax, Ken (You know. Oil), Scott, and of course the late JD Church who still lives on in our memories just as vividly as if he was still with us today. We'd also like to thank the guests who joined us on occasion. Some of you were even worth inviting back. And some of you I invited back anyway. You have all contributed to what has been an experience I will ...maybe not treasure, exactly, but it's certainly a period of my life that has left a lasting mark on who I am. Like getting stabbed in the butt, but more painful.

    Good night everybody!
