The best thing that’s happened to Harry Potter
At least since puppet pals. I too have no strong feelings about Harry Potter but this podcast has me crying episode one when they discussed Dudley’s father may actually be a dying star due to the incredible density of the boy. So it’s giving me strong feelings.
Just as a side note I feel like this is a great example of how, while you can and should never seperate the art from the artist (especially considering J.K Rowling wrote herself in as Dolores Umbridge shameless self-insert smh) what you can take from the art is still valuable. Art is a conversation and you play an essential part in the act of engaging with it. If you can garner joy from what she made and the books were important to you as child, that doesn’t have to go away. Just recognise the flaws in it and stop supporting J.K financially, but the memories don’t have to be tainted. That was all you, and it belongs to you.
