Winning Godzone, Coast to Coasts & Kicking Butt as Team Grey from the TV3 Show Tracked She Adventures NZ

    • Wilderness

In this She Adventures NZ podcast episode, host Senka Radonich is joined by Simone Maier & Emily Wilson.
We've got twice the usual inspiration, with our very first episode with two women who both individually and together have one of the most impressive list of career highlights in the outdoors, including winning Godzone, multiple Coast to Coasts, stage races, and an Adventure Race World Champs between them.
If you’re not familiar with the Adventure Racing world and you haven’t heard of these two women, then you may recognise them as the Grey Team from TV3 show Tracked where teams of two evading elite trackers to reach a pick-up point throughout rugged NZ.
It’s a must watch… without giving away the ending if you haven’t seen it… these gals are bad ass.
In this conversation
We talk about resilience, adaptability and motivationWe dive into their experiences in adventure racing, life, their time on the show Tracked, and they share a truck tonne of inspiration and insights on what they’ve learnt along the wayWe touch on what being in nature does for them and how this impacts their everyday livesWe talk about women in adventure racing, and how it’s changingPlus Emily shares how she manages being a type 1 diabetic while adventure racingAnd so much more...

I’ve found it impossible to ignore my obsession with inspiring women to get outdoors.
I launched Adventure Girls in my mid 20’s and over 15 years took 1,000’s of women on adventures across NZ. Then at 40 I said ‘hell yes’ to a new adventure, sold ⅔ of everything I owned, built out the back of my 4WD ‘Hank the Tank’, left Auckland and traveled NZ for 5 months exploring.
Now I live in the South Island of NZ, have added Stan the Van, a Ford Transit Van I’ve semi converted into the mix, and Adventure Girls evolved into the She Adventures Podcast.
My hope is this podcast, the stories and conversations remind you that you only live once and it’s never too late to get out there.
That they spark something within you and inspire you to get outdoors, to say hell yes to adventure and to fill your happy tank with the things that matter, because life is better when you do.
