Redefining Self Worth as a Dad

Redefining Self Worth as a Dad

Dads' Take Podcast is talking about redefining your self worth as a dad.
We talk about exactly what is is that USED to define our self worth, and then we get into what we find our self worth in now.

As dads, it's important that we think about what it is that bring us value and makes us feel worth it.
Being a dad is great, but it may not always bring you personal satisfaction, or make you feel a lot of self worth.

That's why it's extremely critical that we define where we get our self worth as fathers. It's not enough to pretend that you know what bring you worth, you have to be able to verbalize it.

This lead us to talking about why we started this podcast in the first place. Being a creator is a thing that has helped me increase my self worth.  I love helping people, and when Darius told me his passion was to help people, I knew it was a match made in heaven.

This led us to accidentally discussing some pretty heavy stuff. We discuss some of the interactions D has had with people that are contemplating hurting themselves, and how these types of experience really led him to determining that his self worth might come from helping people.

As always, we end the show with the segment "why would you do that?" where we discuss the craziest things our kids did since the last episode.

and how you can maintain a personal identity as a dad.

Why I Want to Be a Dad

Why I Want to Be a Dad

In this episode Phil and Darius get into what exactly drove them to want to be fathers.

We talk about how our childhoods shaped us and made us both have a strong interest in being dads.

Additionally, we talk about how the process went when it came time for us to actually start making babies and the thought process that went into that decision.

Then we talk about how it went down for subsequent babies, including some unexpected pregnancies.

The Dads' Take dads also get into some of the ups and downs of parenting, and dealing with being married, and how we've grown in our relationship with our wives and our kids.

To close it out, we get into some of the crazy things that our kids have done in the last week, in a segment we like to call "Why Would You Do That?"
