The Elephants and The Rats Daadi Aur Naani Ki Kahaniyan

Once there lived a large group of rats and their king in a deserted town. The town was situated between a forest and a lake. In the forest lived a group of elephants and their king. When the forest started to run dry and elephants started to die of thirst, someone informed elephants about the lake across the town. Elephants crossed the town in search of water and in the process, they crushed many rats under their huge feet. When this became a daily process, the rat king decided to talk to the elephant king to apprise him of this and request him to change their path to the lake. Hearing this, the humble elephant king apologized and agreed to change the route. There came a time when the elephants were in trouble as King’s men started to catch them. One day the Elephant king got trapped in the nets. When no other elephant came forward to help him, he called for the rat king to his rescue who along with other members of his rat clan was pleased to return the favor. 

This story teaches us as important lesson that a friend in need is a friend in deed.
