Ep. 9: G is for Glenfarclas

Ep. 9: G is for Glenfarclas

Well we're here and we went to Scotland since you last heard us.

In this, our first of three episodes dedicated to our trip to Scotland we discuss the Glenfarclas distillery. Luke surprisingly remembers some facts, I add the detail and we review the 16 year old version of their legendary 105 single malt whisky.

I'd also like to thank Glenfarclas for making this amazing whisky!

For those who enjoy our caffeine addled minds' creations I should also mention we have a second podcast which is fictional (or is it?) named GNSradio where an infinitely shadowy mega corporation with seemingly limitless amounts of money close to hand moves into a small town and slowly takes over. If you think it sounds fun or just want to shut me up check it out check out GNSradio now wherever you get your podcasts from or check out the teasers on here. Bonus Episode: G is for Glen Marnoch

Bonus Episode: G is for Glen Marnoch

Yes we recorded this months ago. It was a bonus episode for the season 3 theme and now you get to listen to it.

We review three single malt Scotch whiskies from a supermarket own bottling range. One Speyside, One Highland and One Island (Although I maintain the label was hard to read hence the confusion at the time of recording).

Ep. 8: F is for Finlaggan

Ep. 8: F is for Finlaggan

So it turns out that my computer doesn't just automatically upload these things out of the kindness of its heart when I forget to and then months down the line I realise I never did click the button. (My Bad)

In this episode we look at an independent bottling of an Islay single malt called Finlaggan bottled by the Vintage malt whisky company. We compare their standard bottling of Finlaggan to one of my favourites they do which is the port cask finish version.

The whiskies we are trying are their Finlaggan Old Reserve release bottled at 40%.

And the Finlaggan Port Cask Finish 46%

I'd also like to thank the Vintage Malt Whisky Company for releasing these great whiskies.

Ep. 7: E is for (The) English whisky company

Ep. 7: E is for (The) English whisky company

Well after being marooned on an Island with no wifi to upload any episodes we're back and that's totally why we're late. (People don't really read these things anyway, do they?)

In this episode we look at the English whisky company based in Norfolk in England funily enough. They were established in 2005 and if you want to know more listen to the episode I guess.

The whisky we are trying is their Virgin oak small batch release bottled at 46%.

I'd also like to thank the English whisky company for making this great whisky.

Ep. 6: D is also for Derbyshire (couldn't wait until W)

In this episode we talk about Wire Works whisky from the White Peak distillery in Ambergate.

We discuss their use of Brewer's yeast, cask interaction in different areas as well as looking at the stout casks used for this release, which previously held Pedro Ximenez sherry before the stout went in.

The whisk(e)y we try in this episode is Wire Works Necessary Evil (2023).

I'd also like to thank the White Peak distillery for making this great whisky.

Ep. 5: D is for Drumshanbo

In this episode we talk about Drumshanbo single pot still Irish whiskey from the Shed distillery.

We recap what a Pot still whiskey is, as well as some of the information regarding this relatively new distillery.

The whisk(e)y we try in this episode is Drumshanbo.

I'd also like to thank the Shed distillery for making this great whisky.
