    Are the dead raised?

    Are the dead raised?

Pastor Robert Rohlin on Resurrection Sunday reminds us of 4 key proofs that the resurrection of Christ is real. And that is important, because the resurrection is the key focal point of the Gospel. It is the reason we worship Christ in church, the reason we have hope of eternal life, and the only reason for spending time focused on our relationship with Jesus. This sermon concludes with the powerful story of Edith -Easter- Burns -- a godly woman from San Antonio TX who is now in the presence of Christ. Don't miss this heartwarming story that concludes this message..

Now that You're Chosen, Stand Firm!

Now that You're Chosen, Stand Firm!

Paul really loves the Tessalonians. So, with fatherly concern, he encourages them repeatedly to hold on to the truth and stand firm. One of the problems today though is that so few church members are skilled at identifying truth. They get deluded by religions that incorporate human tradition and trust that equally or even more than the Word of God. But only the written revelation of Scripture can be our inerrant, infallible, inspired, and imperative rule of faith and practices. Cults and groups that believe human tradition continues to add to revelation -like Catholicism and Greek Orthodoxy- lead to dangerous conclusions on a foundation of shifting sand. Only the Word of God is the bedrock on which we should base our lives. Pastor Robert Rohlin takes a careful look at what Paul means when he encourages the Thessalonian Christians to stand firm in the traditions that they were taught. It clearly is a reference to apostolic teaching before the written Word was available. But he cautions them against the -traditions- of others because false teachers had already tried to pervert the faith of the Thessalonians. This message is preached in a spirit of love to plead with others to only accept a church or teachings that base all doctrines SOLELY on the Word of God with no mixture of church tradition or human philosophy.

    Salvation: A Mutual Choice

    Salvation: A Mutual Choice

One of the most often-argued theological concepts is the role of God's election and man's free will in determining who will go to heaven. Some people go to one extreme of claiming that man's free will has no role and that if God choosed you to be saved, you will be saved. Another group claims it is all about the free will of man and that God's calling has nothing to do with it. However, the fact is that Scripture teaches both the choice or election of God and the free will of man have a part in salvation. Pastor Robert Rohlin explains how marriage reflects this mutual choice where God chooses us but we must also choose Jesus Christ. This sermon is not a comprehensive treatment of these issues, because Pastor Robert Rohlin confines the focus to this passage in 2 Thessalonians 2-13-17. First Baptist Church Las Colinas is a family-integrated missionary Baptist Church and a member of the Baptist Missionary Association.

    A Model Mother

    A Model Mother

This Mother's Day sermon is a bit unique. Yes, we start with Scripture, but the main points were taken from the life of a godly mother whom I called -Miss Margie.- As I thought about Mother's Day, it encouraged me to remember her life and the example that she set.

    13-The Cure for Conflict

    13-The Cure for Conflict

If you never have conflict with others, then skip this sermon. But if you are actually breathing enough to fog up a mirror, you need to hear what James has to say about how to resolve conflicts.--Pastor Robert Rohlin is the teaching pastor at First Baptist Church Las Colinas, a family-integrated church in the Baptist Missionary Association. This church focuses on expository preaching to equip fathers to build strong families.

    15-Made Any Plans Lately?

    15-Made Any Plans Lately?

Someone once said, -Man proposes, but God disposes.- Another has said, -The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry.- We make lots of plans, and most of them fail. One of the reasons is that our plans fail to include God's perspective. So how do we plan as Christians-- After all, to fail to plan is to plan to fail. We have to keep God as part of the decision-making process. Pastor Robert Rohlin discusses this important concept as he continues our study of the book of James. Pastor Robert Rohlin is the teaching pastor at First Baptist Church Las Colinas, a family-integrated church in the Baptist Missionary Association. This church focuses on expository preaching to equip fathers to build strong families.
