"My hope is that they'll inspire you as well!"

This show is about the people that I've met while traveling on this path of bettering myself through martial arts (specifically Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Wrestling, and Boxing) and how they've helped me in my personal battle against myself (dealing with depression, suicide, low confidence, anxiety, and self-hatred).

    Rolling With Simon - S1 E10 - Jay Weinberg

    Rolling With Simon - S1 E10 - Jay Weinberg

With only 1 episode left for seaon 1, I'm excited to share this episode with my lawyer, Jay Weinberg! Jay is a hot shot who's worked on some high class cases and well known firms. He now runs his own law office doing all types of cases. He's taken care of closing my home and it was the most fluid experience I could have ever had. Jay's a life long martial artist originally starting in Kung Fu, then Karate, into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. His home is team Advanced, but he visits the Miglarese brother's gym, Balance Studios in Philly from time to time, and whenever he's in the Philippines visiting family (Jay is Jewish, but his wife is Philippino) he's training with Stephen Kamphuis's academy. Jay has experienced much in life and his insight is not one to be missed. Make sure to check this one out!

    Rolling With Simon - S1 E9 - Chris & Liam Zeh

    Rolling With Simon - S1 E9 - Chris & Liam Zeh

First time on Rolling With Simon I have 2 guests in this episode, the father and son duo Chris and Liam Zeh! Chris is a land surveyor, photographer and part-time Liam’s chauffeur and coach while Liam is a full time student and a high level BJJ and Wrestling competitor who’s won all over. I had the privilege to be a part of Liam's BJJ journey ever since he joined Advanced as one of his coaches and got to watch him evolve! They’re both now at Brunswick BJJ under Garry Tonon and we discuss this transition and also how this tends to be viewed in the culture of BJJ. This episode gets into their relationship as father and son, the good and bad times, and everything in between. This one is definitely not to be missed!

    Rolling With Simon - S1 E8 - David Oquendo

    Rolling With Simon - S1 E8 - David Oquendo

My guest for this episode is professional artist David Oquendo who holds an MFA from Montclair State and a BFA from Rutgers. His murals are all over Newark and he's popping up in many solo shows in some notable exhibits such as Solo(s) Project House and the Henao Contemporary Center. He's currently also an art educator through The Robeson Galleries at Rutgers University and an Adjunct Professor at Bard Early College. Dave's a recent BJJ Black Belt and was also the person that introduced me to BJJ. Our history has been quite a long one and we have so many stories to share. One of my favorite things that I share with Dave is that we've both battled with depression & suicide and have come out on top even though both of us have faced failure time and time again. Neither of us gave up and are here today to share our experiences.

Rolling With Simon - S1 E7 - Sung Kim, MD

Rolling With Simon - S1 E7 - Sung Kim, MD

My guest for this episode is Sung Kim, MD. Sung is a Radiation Oncologist at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey that treats head and neck cancer. He is also a purple belt in BJJ with a background in Taekwondo. He went to Annapolis Naval Academy for his Bachelor's Degree, was a crew member of an attack submarine, and graduated from Yale for his MD. He's an incredible husband and father that has personally taken his time to help me out when I was down in the dumps. At one point in my life, I suffered from extreme anxiety and low confidence. Sung was someone I truly looked up to and I asked if I could pick his brain over dinner and he gave me his time. After that dinner he wrote me an e-mail that completely changed my life, which I share in this episode. This episode is one that means a lot to me personally and I hope you all enjoy it!
