    Tom McEnaney, founder of Effective Aid Ukraine (who’s a media consultant and former journalist), speaks to Kieran about how for the past 25 years he has been carrying out projects with disadvantaged children mostly in Belarus with 60 different residential child institutions, mostly orphanages, centres for children with special needs.



    He explains how they are now working in Ukraine on their first project, converting a Ukranian orphanage into a special needs centre.



    Effective Aid Ukraine have no staff and volunteers, Tom included, all pay 100% of their own expenses, so almost all money raised goes directly to the children.

    Rebecca McDermott (ThisIsMeNeurodiversty Support group), speaks to Wendy about the lack of primary and post-primary school places for students with additional needs for the upcoming September 2024 academic term. Rebecca raises awareness of in one area of Dublin alone, up to 17 children just in this area of Dublin 15 do not have a primary or post-primary school place for the coming school year. All these children have a diagnosis of autism and require either a special class or special school placement in order to meet their assessed needs. Rebecca speaks about the pressure and stress this is causing for parents across the country.
